What it costs
Real prices, bought in Chiang Mai
These are the figures we actually pay, converted from baht. They move a little with the exchange rate and a lot with the price of rice.
One child, one term
A notebook, a pencil case and a hot lunch on the day we arrive.
A uniform and shoes
Some children stay home because they have neither. Shoes get sized on the day.
A classroom shelf
Paper, chalk and a first aid box, enough for a term of teaching.
A whole school
The full load for one school of about sixty children, transport included.
