Four areas, each with its own price list
Each program has a figure attached, and when a delivery run is loaded we publish what it cost.
We deliver food, clothing, and educational supplies to rural schools in Thailand. We buy these materials locally to stretch the funding and keep money in the community. Teachers tell us exactly what their classrooms are missing before we pack the van, so we only deliver what they actually need.

Fund school-based health checkups
We organize programs that deliver school-based health services. A family working for daily wages cannot afford to lose a day travelling to a medical clinic. We bring the medical professionals directly to the students during the school day.

Support orphanage care
We donate to orphanages so children have the chance to grow up in a natural environment and develop their individual skills, interests, and talents. We fund the daily necessities along with the resources children need to pursue hobbies and feel secure.

Help women leave sex work
We donate to local organizations that help sex workers return to a normal life. These groups handle the long and difficult process of providing safe housing, assisting with paperwork, offering job retraining, and providing constant support.

What a gift buys
Real prices, bought in Chiang Mai
These are the figures we actually pay, converted from baht. They move a little with the exchange rate and a lot with the price of rice.
One child, one term
A notebook, a pencil case and a hot lunch on the day we arrive.
A uniform and shoes
Some children stay home because they have neither. Shoes get sized on the day.
A classroom shelf
Paper, chalk and a first aid box, enough for a term of teaching.
A whole school
The full load for one school of about sixty children, transport included.

Can I choose where my gift goes?
Yes. Give to the general fund and our founder places it where local teachers say the gap is widest this year, or send it to one of the four programs.
Who decides what to buy?
The teachers. Kittinum writes to every head teacher in October and asks what they are short of that they cannot buy this term. We buy against that list in Chiang Mai.
How do I know my gift arrived?
Every delivery is dated, named and photographed at the school. The records are on the Our Projects page, with what each run cost.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Wellness for Underserved Nations is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable and educational organization. Your receipt arrives by email with our EIN on it.
Why buy supplies in Thailand?
Shipping a sack of rice from Arizona costs more than the rice. Buying it an hour from the school costs less and keeps money in the local community.
